When planning a trip to Disney World, choosing the right accommodation is crucial. The Swan and Dolphin hotels, located near Epcot and Hollywood Studios, are popular choices for many visitors. But are they the same as staying on a Disney Resort property? Let's dive into the details to find out.
The Swan and Dolphin hotels are located on Disney property, but they are not owned or operated by Disney. Instead, they are managed by Marriott International. This means that while guests can enjoy some of the perks of staying on Disney property, such as proximity to the parks and access to Extra Magic Hours, they are not considered official Disney Resort hotels.
Both the Swan and Dolphin hotels offer luxurious accommodations and a wide range of amenities, including multiple pools, restaurants, and recreational activities. Guests can also take advantage of the convenient location within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, as well as easy access to Disney transportation. Note : *There is a daily resort fee for parking, when we went it was around $36 per day!
While staying at the Swan and Dolphin, guests can enjoy some of the benefits typically associated with Disney Resort properties, such as early access to FastPass+ reservations and complimentary transportation to the parks, as well as early entry. However, they do not have access to certain perks like Disney's Magical Express transportation to and from the airport or the Disney Dining Plan. *Also our magic bands did not work to buy food in the park while staying at the Swan and Dolphin. **Another note, while transportation is provided to Disney Parks, our Bus took us to the Transportation Center, which we then had to monorail to Magic Kingdom vs. a bus straight to Magic Kingdom. We walked to Epcot and Hollywood Studios although it was a longer walk, so be prepared! We logged about 28,000 steps per day with the additional walking back to the Swan and Dolphin!
Ultimately, staying at the Swan and Dolphin hotels offers a unique blend of Disney magic and Marriott luxury. While they may not provide the full Disney Resort experience, they are a great option for guests looking for upscale accommodations with convenient access to the parks.
In conclusion, while the Swan and Dolphin hotels offer a fantastic stay near Disney World, they are not the same as staying on an official Disney Resort property. However, they provide a wonderful alternative for guests looking for a high-quality hotel experience with a touch of Disney magic.
